A True Review Of AnyDVD - By SlySoft

This is the best software to be able to burn copyrighted dvds hands down.

AnyDVD is a software program for the PC that automatically removes the CSS copy protection and RPC region codes from your DVDs as soon as you insert the disk into the dvd player. At the same time it also removes the drives region code locking. AnyDVD also removes Sony ARccOS protection type 4 or older/other and I believe it is the only retail software out there that can crack this protection. Basically using AnyDVD you can copy ANY DVD that you want.

I have used many different dvd programs free and paid alike. I can honestly tell you that I have been disappointed with most dvd copy software. Being a long time user of these types of software I can now tell you what you should look out for when you want to buy new software to copy copyrighted dvds. The first thing that is important is usability and documentation. The second thing is updates. There are three parts to updates. First: How often do you get updates? Are the updates in time for you to copy new releases while they are still new? Second: How are these updates announced to you? Do you have to go out and check the website every time you want to copy a DVD to make sure that the software is not out of date? Third: Do you get lifetime updates with your software?

Some software out there especially the free software is so clunky and slow that it is nearly unusable. I have lost many a $2 dollar double layer dvd to a clunky free dvd copier that didn't do what it said it could. Some of this software does work but if you are not the creator of the software figuring out what heck is what you would think you have to be a nuclear engineer. Sometimes too many features is a bad thing. I look for a interface to be simple and easy to use. AnyDVD sits in the system tray of your computer and silently removes all of the copyright protections from your DVD without any intervention from you. The software is still configurable but you don't have to touch it if you don't want. From there you can use any software that you want to use to copy the DVD. Nero … whatever. I use clone DVD from Sly Soft also because of the same reason mentioned in this paragraph, its usability and simplicity.

The second thing that I look for in a good DVD copy software has to do with updates. The first topic in regards to updates is how often and how quick do the updates occur. Again… I hate to bash on free products… if you are willing to deal with freebie programmers who work on there own schedule then that is up to you but AnyDVD by far out paces any free software program for copying DVDs when it comes to updates. I honestly don't know how they do it over there at SlySoft. I could get my new release DVD hot off the presses and bring it home and they already have all the updates released to me that I need to copy the DVD. This is the harrowing difference between AnyDVD and any other DVD copying software. SlySoft always gets you the updates on time so that you can copy the DVDs that you want on your own schedule not theres.

The next part of updates is "How are these updates announced to you?". I can't tell you how many times I have used other DVD copy software to copy a new release video only to find that half way through it the software doesn't have the correct updates in order to copy the DVD. Again… there goes ANOTHER $2 DVD in the trash!!! AnyDVD pops up on your screen any time that there is a new update for the software and asks you to download the newest release of there software. Many other software programs you actually have to go out to a release website and check and see if you have the latest release. If you forget to do that then you just wasted a disk.

Last and definitely not least is whether or not you get lifetime updates to the software. There have been many people crying lately because they feel like SlySoft let them down by releasing a HD version. It's not so much a version but an upgrade to AnyDVD to give it the ability to crack HD DVDs also. All I can say to these people is please quit your bitching. You are lucky that this software doesn't come with a monthly fee for all the work and time that these people have to put into this software to make sure that you get all your lifetime updates on regular DVDs on time and never late. All of you cry babies have never programmed and supported a software program before if you think you are getting ripped off. SlySoft AnyDVD will allow you to copy non-HD DVDs for as long as you own and update the program! You don't have to pay a monthly or even yearly fee. This fact alone is amazing and you should be grateful for such a well-updated piece of software for a one-time fee. One more little tidbit, HD is a completely different protocol and therefore requires completely different programming to be updated. The ability to copy HD DVDs should be an upgrade. I got a little bit off subject here but basically AnyDVD offers you free lifetime updates to there software. There are many companies out there that charge you a monthly or yearly fee for this. Even worse there are companies out there the will change to a new version number and require you to buy the new software while the old software version becomes out of date. Make sure if you don't buy AnyDVD and you decide to go with some other software vendor besides SlySoft you read the fine print to make sure you get life time updates not only on the current version but on future versions.

I hope I have made my case that that for software to be able to burn copyrighted dvds this DVD copy software is really the best of the best in its field. To me the usability, the frequency and timeliness of the updates and the fact that all of the updates are included for the life of the software for a one time paid fee makes AnyDVD by far the best of the best.
