Why Make Dvd Copies

When you copy a movie from an original DVD disc into your hard drive on your computer, you're making DVD copies. Some DVD players will allow you to make DVD copies on one blank DVD disc while the player is playing another DVD disc. This machine is called a DVD duplicator and can make several DVD copies at one time from the same original DVD disc.

The DVD copies that you create will be the same quality as the original disc and may or may not have the same menus and other DVD extras that are on the original movie disc. Some people only copy DVD movies and leave the extras such as director commentaries or interviews with the stars off of the copied disc. They may feel that having too much information on the copy may ruin the movie that they want to watch.

When DVD copies are compared to each other they may be a little different in quality but the difference is generally only seen when you watch the copy on a high definition television screen. Because of the picture sharpness and clarity of the high definition screen, the original movie will look a bit sharper and the sound may have a bit more clarity than any copied disc of the same movie.

Many people don't mind watching DVD copies. Many people in fact hardly ever watch anything else. With all the downloading of DVD movie content across the Internet, most people with a computer and a DVD burner have watched at least one DVD copied movie file. Whether they downloaded the file themselves or the disc was given or sold to them, they have still watched the DVD copied movie.

The DVD copies that you get from your friends may not be as good a quality as the ones that you copy and burn yourself. This is because of the wide variety of DVD copying and burning software available on the market. Some files from your friends may be blurry and the sound may be choppy and out of sync. Other copies may be too loud or appear as if they were cut off at the sides or top and bottom.

Your DVD copies can be made from your own purchased DVDs or from movies that you rent. You should try to only use these copies for your own use though. Many people copy movies and then sell them or give them away to their friends. This may not be a good idea as this can get you in trouble with the law in some instances.

If you want to make DVD copies and keep them in your own collection, you can do that as well. Many people use DVD copies as backup discs for the movies in their entertainment collection. If you take the time to make copies of these movies 0of yours, then you'll always have a spare one in the event of a fire or other sort of damage to the original disc.
